Really?
I just opened the Seven Days newspaper in Dubai and in the news, When is a beach not a beach? Yeah, now I'm asking that question, because what's the name supposed to say. The report said that the place is 'officially recognized as a beach.' So, why did they call that place Jumeirah Beach Residence if it doesn't have a beach at all? Well, the answer at the end of the article said that they were plans to turn the place into a beach park. But when? Aren't they supposed to have turned it into a park even before they opened the place for occupancy? After two deaths by drowning, I guess they will expedite their 'plans.'
So, this doesn't only happen in the Philippines.
